More turning to wind power as alternative

The article discusses some of the shortcomings of wind, and some of the difficulties with getting wind power on the grid and balancing wind energy along with other sources like nuclear.

It also outlines some novel approaches being taken to overcome some of the shortcomings: one example in Iowa and another that can be used in tandem with a hydroelectric system.

Biofuels and Biomaterials as a Practical Alternative to Petroleum

Dr. Arthur Ragauskas, a professor in Georgia Tech's School of Chemistry and Biochemistry was quoted in the article saying that We can readily address, with research, 30 percent of current transportation fuel needs. But reaching that goal will require 5-10 years and significant policy and technical effort.
