Wind Makes Food Retailers Greener ★★

Topped by The Air Force topped which has committed to buy more than 1 million megawatt-hours (mWh) of renewably generated power, the list also included Starbucks, Whole Foods, Safeway, among others.
Local Scientist Has Alternative Fuel ★★
The Tampa Tribune, appx. 584 wordsThe story of Ruggero Santilli, a Harvard University scientist and mathematician in the late 1970s, who holds five grants by the U.S. Department of Energy for a technology that can transform any liquid, including water and used motor oil, into a natural gas equivalent.
The gas has approval from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for motor vehicle use, and their is a commercial machine in use in Italy and soon there will be two more: one in Sweden and another in Cyprus.
Wind farms in the UK face 10-year delay for grid connection ★★

Many of the proposed wind parks have been told they may have to wait until 2016 to get on the grid.
Automakers fast-tracking ethanol use ★

From the article: GM and Ford lead Asian rivals in developing and marketing E85-compatible vehicles, called FFVs or flex-fuel vehicles.
This is thought to be a motivator for the local automakers, as it could give them an advantage if the fuel catches on.

UK: wind power for greenhouses ★
FreshPlazaA green house in Carlisle (U.K.) is looking to offset £15,000/year energy costs by using wind and solar power. The company wants to install 5 turbines, two 50-ft high and three 30-ft high, and believe that the units will pay for themselves in a span of five years.
