Geothermal Energy Venture in Canada Benefits All

Waterloo North Hydro and NextEnergy have formed Lifetime Energy, a joint venture designed to make geothermal energy solutions accessible to anyone in the Waterloo North Hydro service area.

New material brings hydrogen fuel, cheaper petrochemicals closer to reality

A new material with superior gas-separating ability has been developed by a chemical engineering group at The University of Texas at Austin, and it could result in lower costs for purifying hydrogen for hydrogen-fuelled vehicles. One of the key advantages is its its ability to permit hydrogen to remain compressed at high pressure.

Siemens expands its manufacturing capacity for wind turbines in Denmark ★★

Acquiring a former fiber glass factory in Engesvang, Denmark, Siemens Wind Power A/S is expanding its production capacity of wind turbines. The Siemens Power Generation Group (PG) experienced a near doubling of it's turbine sales in 2005, shipping nearly 630 megawatts of output.

This acquisition is seen as a response to the fact that fabrication capacity for 2006 at the division headquarters in Brande is almost fully booked for 2006.
